Powerwall 3
One unit for solar, storage and whole-home backup — designed, fitted and supported across the North East by our own Tesla-certified engineers.
One box.
Not three.
Powerwall 3 builds the solar inverter straight into the battery. One unit on the wall instead of a battery, an inverter and a tangle of cabling — a cleaner install, fewer parts, and less to ever go wrong.
The power cut nobody notices.
The North East gets its share of storms. With a Tesla Gateway, a single Powerwall keeps the whole house running — heating, fridge, broadband, sockets — switching over automatically, in a fraction of a second.
Run your home on sunshine.
Most homes use just a third of the solar they generate — the rest is sold back cheaply. A Powerwall stores it for the evening peak, and on a smart tariff it charges overnight at 7–8p to power the house through the 25–30p crunch.
The only battery on the Tesla Energy Plan.
Powerwall unlocks a tariff no other battery can touch — currently paying up to 24p for every kWh you export, one of the highest rates in the UK. We help you pick and switch to the right tariff at handover, because that's where most of the saving really lives.
Powerwall 3, and why it replaced Powerwall 2
Powerwall 2 is discontinued for new UK sales but still fully supported. If you own one, nothing changes.

Certified by Tesla.
Tesla only lets certified installers buy and fit the Powerwall — you can find us in Tesla's own installer directory. It means our engineers are trained and audited to Tesla's standard, your warranty is registered correctly, and the system is commissioned exactly the way Tesla intends. Premium kit, fitted properly, by a 40-year North East family business.
A Powerwall 3 we fitted in Sunderland
4-bed detached, Sunderland
Whole-home backup, 7p EV miles
We AC-coupled a Powerwall 3 to the home's existing Solis solar inverter — no rework of the original array — and added a Zappi charger on Octopus Intelligent Go.
The newest tech, fitted by the
steadiest hands in the North East.
It started in 1985 — founder Joe Sheridan wiring alarm systems out of the back of a van for family, friends and neighbours. Four decades on, the same family still answers the phone: son Lee runs the installs and grandson Nathan's on the tools — and AMP is a Tesla Certified Installer, approved to design, fit and support the Powerwall.
Every install is delivered by our own time-served, MCS- and NICEIC-certified electricians — never subcontracted. The same engineer who designs your Powerwall is on the scaffold the day it goes in.
Powerwall isn't the cheapest battery, and it isn't automatically the right one. If you already have a good solar inverter and just want storage added, an AC-coupled battery can be better value — and we'll say so. Powerwall earns its premium when you want whole-home backup, the best app, the Tesla Energy Plan, or you're fitting solar and battery together. The free survey is where we work out which is right for your home.

Tesla Powerwall FAQs
With a Tesla Backup Gateway, yes — for most North East homes a single Powerwall backs up the whole house and switches over automatically within a fraction of a second. Very large homes or unusually heavy loads are something we check on the survey, and we'll always tell you honestly what it'll run.
From around £8,995 fully installed, including the Backup Gateway, all certification and warranty registration — with 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. The exact figure depends on your consumer unit and any electrical upgrades, which the free survey confirms in a fixed written quote.
No. A Powerwall works on its own with a smart tariff — charge overnight at 7–8p and run the house through the peak. Add solar and the savings compound, because surplus generation tops the battery up instead of being exported cheaply. It's also a tidy way to add solar later, since the inverter is already built in.
The Tesla Energy Plan is a tariff available only to Powerwall owners, currently paying one of the highest export rates in the UK for the electricity you send back to the grid. Eligibility and the exact rate are set by Tesla and can change — we'll talk you through whether it's the best fit versus other smart tariffs at handover.
Powerwall 3 comes with a 10-year warranty and, unusually, no throughput cap — so you can cycle it hard every day for tariff savings without affecting cover. Its LFP cells are rated for thousands of cycles, so a 15-year-plus working life is realistic. Tesla does require the unit to stay connected to the internet to keep the full warranty.
Yes — AMP Renewables is a Tesla Certified Installer, which is the only way to buy and fit a Powerwall properly. You can verify any of our accreditations, including NICEIC (D124458) and MCS; we carry the registration numbers, and you can read genuine reviews on Google, Checkatrade and Trustpilot.
Yes. You can add expansion packs to a Powerwall 3 or stack additional units as your needs grow — handy if you're planning an EV or a heat pump. We'll size the first install with that in mind so expanding later is straightforward.
