What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies are used to remember preferences, measure traffic, and (with your consent) deliver personalised advertising. Related technologies include "session storage" and "local storage" — these are managed differently from cookies under the law but we list them here too for transparency.
Our approach
We use the minimum cookies necessary to operate this website. Optional cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Analytics) are rejected by default until you give explicit consent via the cookie consent banner. You can change your consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and refreshing this site, or by clicking "Manage cookies" in the footer.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| amp-preloader-seen-v2 | Session storage (not a cookie) | Suppresses the first-visit-only preloader after you have seen it once this browser session. | Session only (cleared when you close the tab) | Necessary |
| amp-audience | Local storage (not a cookie) | Remembers which audience (Homeowner vs Business) you selected on the homepage hero so we show the right content next visit. | Persistent until you clear browser data | Necessary |
| _fbp, _fbc | Third-party cookie (Meta/Facebook Pixel) | Track conversions from Meta ads (Facebook, Instagram). Allows us to measure ad effectiveness and build audiences for retargeting. | 90 days | Optional (rejected by default until consent) |
| _ga, _ga_* | Third-party cookie (Google Analytics 4 — when enabled) | Anonymous traffic measurement — pages visited, source of visit, device type. GA4 measurement ID currently not configured. | Up to 2 years | Optional (rejected by default until consent + only loaded if GA4 ID configured) |
| Various Netlify-managed | First-party cookie (Netlify hosting) | Anti-bot detection, CDN cache routing, security headers compliance. | Varies (typically session or 1 day) | Necessary |
Managing your cookies
You can manage cookies in two places:
- Our cookie banner appears on first visit (and any time you clear cookies). You can accept all, reject optional, or customise.
- Your browser settings let you block or delete all cookies. Note: blocking necessary cookies may break some site functionality.
Third-party cookie sources

Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, delete, and object to processing. See our privacy policy for full details and how to exercise these rights.
